Job Title: Construction Training Specialist

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Construction Training Specialist to join our team at Novus. As a Construction Training Specialist, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality vocational training to learners in a prison environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality, learner-focused vocational training in construction skills
  • Work with groups of learners to develop their practical and theoretical skills, including adherence to industry expectations for health and safety
  • Collaborate with industry professionals to provide an overview of employment opportunities and develop learners' aspirations
  • Work on live projects within the prison estate to provide learners with real-world experience

Requirements:

  • Service experience in a relevant vocational area
  • Flexible approach to working in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Ability to track and monitor learners' progress against course criteria
  • At least 2 years' experience in the relevant vocational area
  • Willingness to gain an Award in Education within 6 months
  • Commitment to gain a subject-specific qualification to allow training to Level 3 within 2 years
  • Commitment to gain an assessor award required by relevant Awarding Bodies within 1 year
  • Hold at least a Level 1 qualification in Literacy and Numeracy or be willing to commit to gaining the qualification(s) within 1 year
