Position Overview

Reporting to the Administration Service Manager, you will collaborate with Senior Administrators and fellow Administrative Coordinators.

It is essential to be well-versed in and comply with all relevant policies, procedures, and guidelines, ensuring that all tasks are completed efficiently and within established timelines.

Utilize various technologies and equipment effectively to deliver a high-quality administrative and secretarial service that supports patient care.

Ensure that all outputs meet the organization’s standards for information governance and compliance with national and local policies.

Engage in ongoing training and development opportunities relevant to your role.

This position entails a variety of responsibilities, including but not limited to:

  • Adhering to all infection prevention and control policies, including hygiene protocols.

Qualifications and Experience

Essential Qualifications

  • GCSEs in Mathematics and English at grade C or above.
  • Typing or word processing qualification at RSA II level or equivalent.
  • AMSPAR Advanced Diploma for Medical Secretaries - Level 3 or equivalent.
  • NVQ Level 3 or above in Business Administration or equivalent.

Desirable Qualifications

  • RSA III typing qualification or equivalent.
  • IT qualification (ITQ Level 2 or equivalent).
  • Shorthand qualification.

Experience Requirements

Essential Experience

  • Proven secretarial experience in a healthcare environment.
  • Experience with clerical work involving computerized systems.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Experience using audio transcription systems.

Desirable Experience

  • Previous experience as a Medical Secretary.
  • Experience working within a multidisciplinary team.
