Residential Energy Consultant

We are seeking skilled energy assessors who are passionate about moving away from fossil fuels and embracing innovative, sustainable technologies for our clients. You will have the opportunity to explore cutting-edge technology at our state-of-the-art training and research facility, enabling you to inspire customers with these transformative systems. Leveraging Octopus Energy's technological expertise, we aim to make electric heating and self-generation the smart, accessible, and eco-friendly choices for every household.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct home visits to evaluate the suitability for heat pump installations or to complete Energy Performance Certificates. Gather various data points, including measurements, to perform heat loss calculations and generate accurate quotes. Ensure comprehensive information is collected to guide the design and installation of low carbon heating systems. Clearly communicate the processes involved to customers and advocate for the technology. Provide exceptional customer service, ensuring clients feel valued during each visit and are encouraged to enhance their homes. Adapt to changes in a dynamic work environment with resilience and flexibility.Required Qualifications
Proven experience in effective customer communication, preferably in face-to-face settings. Background in MCS accredited organizations or experience assessing properties for energy efficiency or insulation is advantageous (Domestic Energy Assessor/Retro Fit Assessor qualification is highly preferred but not mandatory). Familiarity with discussing home improvement projects, particularly in measuring and sizing equipment. Knowledge of technologies such as heat pumps, solar PV, battery storage, and electrical systems is desirable. Mechanical or electrical experience is a plus, though a willingness to learn quickly is essential. Strong IT and technical skills are necessary, as Octopus is a technology-driven company. A valid, clean driving license is required.Benefits
