This is a challenging and rewarding role that requires a high level of expertise in dietetics and leadership. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading a team of dietitians and providing clinical education to staff, students, and assistants.
Main Responsibilities- Provide clinical education to staff, students, and assistants and give constructive feedback.
- Work as part of a multidisciplinary team (MDT) to deliver high-quality patient care.
- Minimum of 1 year experience working as a Band 5 dietitian with evidence of interest in paediatric dietetics.
The ideal candidate will have a BSc in Nutrition and Dietetics or a Post-Graduate Diploma in Dietetics and be registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
Essential Criteria- Experience of working in a clinical setting and providing patient care.
- Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Advanced Diploma in Dietetics.
- Member of a paediatric-related British Dietetic Association (BDA) specialist group.
- Behavioural change skills training.
- Training or experience in leadership and appraisal skills.
- Experience of working as part of an MDT.
- Minimum of 1 year experience working as a Band 5 dietitian with evidence of interest in paediatric dietetics.
- Experience of using leadership skills in the operational management of staff.
- Competence and experience of advanced communication skills.
- Up-to-date with evidence-based professional practice and research.
- Able to present information, written and verbal, in a clear and logical manner.
- Ability to organise, prioritise, and delegate.
- Able to cope in a stressful environment and with emotional or stressed patients and families.
- Evidence of Continuing Professional Development (CPD) maintained in a portfolio.
- Understanding of clinical governance and its implications for services.
- Knowledge of issues related to a wide range of paediatric dietetic practice areas.
- Ability to work successfully within a team.
- Ability to work autonomously within professional and trust codes of conduct.
- Self-motivated, flexible, and reliable.
- Empathetic and able to have sensitive conversations.
- Excellent problem-solving skills.
