Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Principal Designer to join our dynamic team at Brandon James Ltd.
About the Role: As a Principal Designer, you will play a pivotal role in managing the pre-construction phase, ensuring compliance with CDM regulations and mitigating risks throughout the design process. You will collaborate with design teams, clients, and contractors to develop comprehensive pre-construction information, conduct risk assessments, and oversee the preparation of construction phase plans.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the Principal Designer function on a variety of projects, ensuring health and safety standards are integrated into the design process.
- Collaborate closely with architects, engineers, and project managers to develop design risk registers and provide expert guidance on CDM compliance.
- Liaise with clients to ensure their duties under CDM 2015 regulations are fully understood and fulfilled.
- Assist with the development of construction phase plans and ensure compliance with relevant regulations.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in a Principal Designer role, with a background in construction, architecture, or engineering.
- NEBOSH National Certificate in Construction Health and Safety.
- Membership with a professional body such as IOSH or APS.
- Strong knowledge of CDM 2015 regulations.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
