Design Manager

Clancy is seeking a highly skilled Design Manager to join our Energy Design Team. As a key member of the team, you will play a pivotal role in delivering various schemes within the energy sector.
The successful candidate will be responsible for leading an established team, ensuring compliance to design scopes, CDM, and relevant standards. You will work closely with the Design Leads, Project Teams, Internal and External Clients, and supply chain to achieve project goals.
Key Responsibilities:- Establish and promote best practices in health, safety, sustainability, cost, time, buildability, and quality matters.
- Collate and promote strategic advice and knowledge associated with design management best practices.
- Identify, coach, and develop key staff to ensure their growth and success.
- Promote the use of engineering expertise to add value to the design development process.
- Ensure all programmes, scopes, and reports are updated and communicated regularly.
- Raise design issues with the Head of Design.
- Ensure compliance with CDM 2015 requirements for internal and external designers.
- Oversee residual design risk management and communicate risks to the risk owner.
- Perform other relevant duties as required.
- Master's Degree in a relevant subject.
- Experience working with IDNOs, DNOs, or ICPs.
- Knowledge of DNO drawing practices from LV to 132kV.
- Commercial awareness.
- Solid understanding of engineering principles.
- Excellent knowledge of CDM.
