Teaching Assistant - ASD Opportunity

We are seeking an exceptional Teaching Assistant - ASD to join our team at a leading primary school in Lewisham, South East London.

As a Teaching Assistant - ASD, you will play a vital role in providing a supportive and inclusive learning environment for a year 6 student with ASD. Your primary responsibility will be to assist the student academically and with behavioural issues, utilizing your expertise in behaviour management techniques, positive reinforcement strategies, and de-escalation methods.

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals. Your ability to establish rapport and build positive relationships with students, demonstrating patience, empathy, and understanding, is essential.

The ideal candidate will have experience working with students with behavioural challenges, preferably in an educational or special education setting. You will be required to hold an Enhanced DBS Certificate and have a strong understanding of safeguarding principles.

Requirements
