Job Summary:

Astute People is seeking an experienced Operations Director to lead the day-to-day operations of our Anaerobic Digestion plant in Cambridgeshire. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of the plant, while driving business growth and profitability.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plant Operations: Oversee the day-to-day operations of the Anaerobic Digestion plant, ensuring compliance with safety, health, and environmental standards.
  • Team Management: Manage and develop a high-performing site operations team, providing coaching and guidance to ensure the achievement of business objectives.
  • Feedstock Management: Ensure the effective management of feedstock, maintaining healthy biology and optimizing plant performance.
  • Cost Control: Manage site P&L and control budget expenditure, identifying opportunities for cost savings and process improvements.
  • Planned Preventative Maintenance: Implement and maintain a Planned Preventative Maintenance system (CCMS) to ensure the optimal performance and reliability of plant equipment.

Requirements:

  • Education: Degree, HNC, or apprenticeship in a relevant engineering field.
  • Health & Safety: Health & Safety qualification such as IOSH/NEBOSH.
  • Certification: Ideally, WAMITAB COTC Level 4 certification.
  • Experience: Managerial or supervisory experience in Anaerobic Digestion or related sectors (e.g., Energy from Waste, Water Treatment).
  • Leadership Skills: Strong leadership skills, hands-on approach, and a passion for continuous improvement.
