Midwife - Hospital & Community Specialist

We are seeking an experienced Senior Midwife to lead and manage the Antenatal Clinic and Maternity Triage/Daycare at the Royal Derby Hospital site. As a key member of our maternity team, you will be responsible for ensuring women, babies, and families receive safe, clinically effective, and woman-centered care across the entire maternity care pathway.
Main Responsibilities- Lead by example, providing expert midwifery clinical advice and operational support to teams and services.
- Manage and develop staff, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, effective, and compassionate midwifery care.
- Work closely with multidisciplinary teams to deliver care to women and babies within acute or community clinical environments with complex needs.
- Support the delivery of midwifery care using various service models, including continuity of carer.

Person Specification- First-class degree or equivalent.
- NMC registration and revalidation requirements.
- Experience of mentoring, supporting, coaching, and developing staff.
- Experience of managing a delegated budget.
- Experience of facilitating appraisals, staff development, and confirmers to support NMC revalidation.
- Experience of HR policies, including management of performance, sickness/absences, and participation in the recruitment and selection of staff.
