Job Description

AA Euro Group is seeking an experienced Electrical Site Manager to join their team. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the execution of electrical projects from pre-mobilization to commissioning and demobilization.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in the development of construction programs, short-term look-ahead planning reports, equipment, and materials schedules.
  • Visit sites and develop site establishment schedules.
  • Participate in change management and project validation.
  • Set up site safety starter packs and participate in HSEQ plans.
  • Prepare and review method statements and risk assessments with subcontractors.
  • Review construction drawings and sign off.
  • Assist in benchmarking installation practices and quality procedures.
Project Construction Phase:
  • Ensure all on-site personnel hold relevant competencies for tasks.
  • Maintain company image at all times.
  • Assist project teams in expediting major equipment deliveries.
  • Maintain detailed site diaries.
  • Attend and chair internal meetings.
  • Ensure timely variation pickups with project managers and QS.
  • Ensure labor allocation sheets are completed by subcontractors.
  • Produce short-term programs in line with master programs.
  • Mark up master programs weekly and issue to project managers.
  • Effectively manage subcontractor supervision for efficient productivity.
  • Ensure subcontractor workforces are on site at workfaces on time.
Safety:
  • Ensure tool box talks, inductions, and safety briefings are carried out.
  • Deliver specific EHSQ TBTs and group stand-downs.
  • Perform weekly EHS audits.
  • Ensure all staff are set to work in a safe and proper fashion.
  • Maintain plant logs and ensure weekly safety checks are carried out.
  • Ensure operatives are working safely, wearing appropriate PPE, and working to agreed method statements.
  • Ensure compliance with Health and Safety Policy, particularly with the operation of work permits, site safety audits, and weekly walk-arounds.
  • Carry out daily walk-arounds adopting a 'don't walk by' approach to safety.
  • Implement H&S behavior/culture and Golden Rules.
  • Enforce 30-minute reporting.
Quality:
  • Plan and coordinate delivery of materials and plant.
  • Deliver specific QAQC TBTs and group stand-downs.
  • Perform weekly QAQC audits.
  • Mark up drawings in conjunction with inspection testing.
  • Ensure inspection test plans are enforced by snagging works, then offering to clients for inspection at various stages of the installation working to ZERO snags.
  • Ensure free-issue equipment is checked, cared for, and once accepted confirm to engineers to sign off for payment.
  • Raise and close off NCRs as necessary.
Close-Out Activities:
  • Liaise with commissioning engineers to ensure all systems are tested, demonstrated, and handed over.
  • Ensure all site safety devices are proved.
  • Ensure all life systems are complete and certified.
  • Issue final marked-up drawings are correct.
  • Liaise with project managers on site demobilization, including plant, labor, materials, and site establishment.
  • Ensure all statutory notices, schematics, wall charts are in place on site in accordance with project completion checklists.
Requirements:
  • Recognized electrical apprenticeship/trade certification coupled with a minimum of 5 years site management experience.
  • Experience in managing electrical design and build projects in excess of €5 million.
  • Ideal possession of IOSH certificates in managing safety, environmental management, and general NEBOSH certificates.
  • Strong computer abilities.
  • PICW 'Person in Charge of Work' Level A would be advantageous.
  • Professional acumen - represent the company at a senior level in meetings, presentations, technical workshops, etc. in a professional, competent, and capable manner.
  • Communications - a strong communicator with excellent verbal and writing proficiency. Ability to lead presentations to larger audiences.
  • Planning and Organizing - an organized and adaptable individual with a flexible approach to work. Ability to manage and prioritize when leading multiple projects.
  • Deep understanding of constructability of projects.
  • Strong commercial awareness.
  • Capable of building strategic relationships with third-party design groups.
  • Ability to work on own initiative and build and manage a team.
