About the Role

We are seeking an exceptional individual to join our team as Clinical Professor of Haematology and Head of the Department of Haematology within the Comprehensive Cancer Centre, School of Cancer and Pharmaceutical Sciences. The successful candidate will have a strong academic track record and a passion for haemato-oncology, stem cell transplantation, advanced therapies, or patient stratification.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic leadership for academic haematology, including research, education, and mentorship of early career clinical and non-clinical scientists.
  • Pursue their own state-of-the-art programme in haematology, with a focus on haemato-oncology, stem cell transplantation, advanced therapies, or patient stratification.
  • Contribute to the development of research priorities and strategies for the Department of Haematology.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across the Comprehensive Cancer Centre and the School of Cancer and Pharmaceutical Sciences to advance haematology research and education.

Requirements

  • PhD in a relevant field, such as haematology, oncology, or a related discipline.
  • Established academic track record, with a strong publication record and a proven ability to secure research funding.
  • Experience in leadership and management, with a track record of successfully leading teams and projects.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with colleagues, students, and external partners.
