Job Title: Clinical Professor of Haematology and Head of Department

We are seeking an exceptional individual to join our team as a Clinical Professor of Haematology and Head of Department. This is a unique opportunity to lead our Haematology Department and contribute to our mission of delivering excellence in education, research, and patient care.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing academic, strategic, and operational leadership within the Department. They will work closely with the Joint Heads of the School of Cancer & Pharmaceutical Sciences to ensure the School's ambitions are met, and the Department contributes to the Faculty's overall performance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide academic leadership and strategic direction for the Department
  • Represent the Department's interests in Faculty and university policy development
  • Performance manage staff within the Department
  • Foster a stimulating and inclusive cultural environment
  • Develop and implement the Department's strategy to achieve the School's ambitions
Requirements

We are looking for an individual with a strong academic track record, a proven ability to lead and manage teams, and a passion for delivering excellence in education, research, and patient care. The successful candidate will have a PhD or equivalent in a related subject, a Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) or equivalent in haematology, and a strong record of research grant funding.

They will also have evidence of leadership capability, the ability to lead and function within a team, and a proven track record in education, research, and professional achievement. The ideal candidate will be an excellent communicator, capable of inspiring staff and students, and driving forward the Department's ambitions and strategic aims.
