Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior NPD Technologist to join our team at White & Clayton Recruitment. As a key member of our product development team, you will be responsible for leading the development of new products from ideation through to commercialization.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Product Development:
    • Develop and implement product development strategies to drive business growth and revenue.
    • Conduct market research and trend analysis to identify new product opportunities and stay ahead of the competition.
    • Manage product development timelines to ensure projects are completed on schedule and within budget.
  • Recipe Formulation:
    • Develop and refine recipes to meet nutritional, sensory, and cost requirements.
    • Conduct kitchen trials and pilot plant trials to test new formulations and processes.
    • Ensure all products comply with regulatory and company standards.
  • Project Management:
    • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritizing tasks to meet deadlines and deliver results.
    • Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure successful project outcomes.
    • Prepare and present project updates and reports to senior management.
  • Technical Support:
    • Provide technical support to production teams during product launches.
    • Troubleshoot issues related to product formulation, processing, and packaging.
    • Work with suppliers to source new ingredients and materials.
  • Continuous Improvement:
    • Identify opportunities for process improvements and cost savings.
    • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and regulatory changes.
    • Mentor and support junior NPD technologists and other team members.
    Requirements:
    • Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Food Technology, or a related field.
    • Strong understanding of food science, ingredient functionality, and food processing techniques.
    • Excellent project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
    • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and product development software.
    Additional Requirements:
    • Ability to work flexible hours as needed to meet project deadlines.
    • Willingness to travel occasionally for supplier visits, conferences, and production trials.
