About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Construction Project Manager to join our team at ENWL. As a key member of our Business Connections Projects team, you will be responsible for managing the successful delivery of a portfolio of schemes, including customer-driven high voltage connection and diversion works.
Key Responsibilities
- Establish customer requirements and manage the delivery of programmes of works from acceptance stage to project closure.
- Ensure ENWL standards of health and safety are maintained in line with company and HSE regulations.
- Manage projects to ensure works are completed in line with customer objectives, identifying areas of performance for improvement and providing recommendations for solutions.
- Promote the importance of customer satisfaction and improved interaction with customers on site.
- Facilitate the formal handover of planned projects from design to delivery teams and reach agreement on programme and financial constraints with delivery teams and customers.
- Review progress in line with the work bank and report on the progress of the programme, identifying efficiency savings for the business.
- Manage operational contractor-related risks and manage the delivery partners' works to ensure they are completed in line with ENWL's policies and procedures.
- Certify contractor payments on completion of works, including approval of variations, to ensure projects are managed effectively.
- Hold regular progress meetings with stakeholders to provide feedback, address areas of concern, forecast spend, and plan future works.
- Support delivery partners in liaison with local authorities, other public bodies, and other statutory utilities as necessary.
- Ensure ENWL systems are updated accurately and timely.
- Provide support to design engineers on construction aspects of work and facilitate coordination between design and construction teams where necessary.
- Attend on-site meetings with contractors and customers as appropriate.
- Answer technical queries raised by contractors and provide solutions.
Requirements
- Hold a minimum of an ONC/City and Guilds level qualification in Electrical Engineering or relevant experience within the electricity distribution industry.
- Have experience of health and safety compliance.
- Have excellent customer relationship and engagement skills.
- Have proven programming and planning skills.
- Have proven report writing skills and be literate with Microsoft Office applications, including Microsoft Excel.
- Be an excellent communicator.
- Have proven influencing skills.
- Have experience working within a team.
- Experience and understanding of LV/HV distribution networks.
- Hold ENWL LV Operational Authorisation (desirable).
