About the Role
This is an exciting opportunity to join our market-leading Financial Institutions team in London and contribute to our continued success as part of the Axis Global Markets division. As a Financial Institutions Specialist, you will play a key role in reviewing and evaluating new and renewal business, analyzing and underwriting individual risks, and developing limit structures, retention, pricing, and endorsements.
Key Responsibilities
- Review and evaluate new and renewal business based on company underwriting guidelines, competition, and geographic focus.
- Review coverage requests provided by brokers and determine the department's position relating to such requests within individual authority granted.
- Analyze and underwrite individual risks, developing appropriate limit structures, retention, pricing, and endorsements.
- Assist in the management of the portfolio of business, including new lines, renewals, and cross-marketing of product lines within the department.
- Meet all divisional servicing objectives, including quote turnaround, policy issuance, file maintenance, and documentation.
- Perform required marketing through regular broker visits, soliciting new accounts, gathering market intelligence, and providing up-to-date department information.
- Manage select broker relationships to ensure objectives are achieved.
- Perform all necessary travel for client meetings.
- Develop and update product and underwriting knowledge.
- Maintain up-to-date familiarity with economic and legal factors comparing department lines of business and insurance industry.
- Participate in projects or perform other related work as required.
About You

Requirements
- Ideal experience in Professional Lines in the London and/or International markets.
- Ability to build new and existing broker relationships.
- Developing technical skills in underwriting in the relevant classes.
- Team player who is effective working in a close team environment.
- Open communication style and excellent presentation skills.
- Attention to detail.
- Language skills, in addition to English, would be desirable.
