Electrical Estimator Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Electrical Estimator to join our team at Hays Specialist Recruitment Limited. As a leading-edge firm, we specialize in the design, manufacture, installation, and commissioning of electrical control systems worldwide.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Identify new business opportunities with clients across various industries, including Sand & Quarry, Recycling, Food, Renewables, Animal Feeds, Refrigeration, and Water & Waste Water.
  • Liaise with clients to understand their requirements, budget, and expectations, providing tailored solutions to meet their needs.
  • Work with electrical specifications, schematics, block cable diagrams, and BOMs to ensure health and safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements are met.
  • Provide accurate costings for clients and collaborate with suppliers to achieve the best possible costings.
  • Negotiate contract terms and conditions, striving for continuous improvements in quality.
  • Assist other departments, such as design, production, site installation, and technical support, to ensure projects are delivered to a high standard.
Requirements:
  • Minimum of an HNC in Electrical Engineering.
  • At least three years of experience in a similar role.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong background in Industrial Electrical Installation and Electrical Control Systems.
  • Ability to understand electrical specifications, schematics, drawings, block cable diagrams, and BOMs.
  • Experience with a range of PLCs, HMIs, and Variable Speed Drives.
  • Good understanding of electrical standards.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to self-manage and prioritize to meet deadlines.
