Special Education Teaching Assistant

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to join our team at Empowering Learning. As a SEMH & EBD Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the educational and emotional needs of our pupils.
About the RoleThis is a full-time, permanent position starting in September 2024. You will work closely with our experienced teaching staff to provide individualized support to pupils with SEMH and other SEN. Your duties will include:
- Working one-to-one with pupils in the classroom and utilizing the outdoor space
- Leading small group interventions for pupils working below age-expected levels
- De-escalating challenging situations and providing emotional support
- Liaising with senior staff to monitor pupil progress
- Contributing to the school's wider goals and objectives
We are looking for an individual with:
- Previous experience working with special educational needs
- Resilience and adaptability in the face of challenges
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- A good sense of humor and a positive attitude
