We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to join our team at Empowering Learning. As a SEMH & EBD Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the educational and emotional needs of our pupils.

About the Role

This is a full-time, permanent position starting in September 2024. You will work closely with our experienced teaching staff to provide individualized support to pupils with SEMH and other SEN. Your duties will include:

  • Working one-to-one with pupils in the classroom and utilizing the outdoor space
  • Leading small group interventions for pupils working below age-expected levels
  • De-escalating challenging situations and providing emotional support
  • Liaising with senior staff to monitor pupil progress
  • Contributing to the school's wider goals and objectives
Requirements

We are looking for an individual with:

  • Previous experience working with special educational needs
  • Resilience and adaptability in the face of challenges
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • A good sense of humor and a positive attitude
