About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Mental Health Practitioner to join our team in North Derbyshire. As a key member of our Early Intervention and Targeted Support Service, you will play a vital role in improving access to high-quality support for children and young people experiencing mild to moderate mental health and emotional wellbeing difficulties.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver structured, evidence-based, therapy-informed interventions to children and young people across Derby and Derbyshire.
  • Provide supervision to Emotional Wellbeing Practitioners and advice and consultation support to professionals and education staff within a defined locality.
  • Contribute to a single integrated duty system for early intervention mental health services provided by Compass.
Requirements
  • Core professional qualification relevant to mental health (e.g. CWP, IAPT, PMHW, nursing with specialism in mental health or learning disability nursing, Occupational Therapy, Social Work, or Professional qualification relevant to mental health CBT therapist).
  • Evidence of continued professional development.
  • Knowledge of educational environments, safeguarding issues, capacity and consent issues, and experience of working with children and young people, their families, and others.
  • Ability to carry out 1:1 therapeutic mental health interventions with children and families, conduct mental health assessments, and make an assessment of risk and record and communicate it appropriately.
