About the Role
The midwife provides essential supervision, care, and advice to women during pregnancy, labor, and the post-partum period. This includes conducting deliveries independently and caring for newborns and infants. The care encompasses preventative measures, detecting abnormal conditions in mothers and children, procuring medical assistance, and executing emergency measures when medical help is unavailable. This aligns with the NMC Code.
Main Responsibilities
- Explore opportunities for growth and development at the Duchess of Kent Maternity Unit for Women and Babies, a busy unit delivering 4200 babies annually.
- As part of the development and modernization of services, work with a dedicated Home Birth team and active Birth Centre team who caseload women under their care.
- Contribute to the development of continuity models across various care pathways for women in the sector.
