About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Vehicle Dynamics Engineer to join our Vehicle Performance team at Aston Martin F1 Team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for driving the development of our vehicles through simulation studies, performance analysis, and mechanical rig testing.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct simulation studies for current and future car development, ensuring optimal performance and efficiency.
  • Analyze performance data to identify areas for improvement and develop strategies for enhancement.
  • Design and execute mechanical rig testing programs to validate simulation results and ensure vehicle performance meets our high standards.
  • Liaise with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of vehicle dynamics into our overall design and development process.
  • Develop and maintain a deep understanding of mechanical systems, including aerodynamics, suspension, and chassis design.
Requirements
  • Proven experience in the automotive/motorsport sector, with a strong background in vehicle dynamics and performance optimization.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex data and develop effective solutions.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical systems, including aerodynamics, suspension, and chassis design.
  • Proficiency in data analysis software and programming languages, such as Matlab and Python.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Motorsport trackside experience, with a strong understanding of high-performance vehicle dynamics.
  • Experience with data analysis software, such as data logging and analysis tools.
  • Knowledge of mechanical modeling in Simulink/Dymola, with the ability to develop and validate complex models.
  • Hands-on experience with mechanical/automotive systems, including suspension, chassis, and aerodynamics.
