About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and innovative Structural Design Engineer to join our Building Structures department in Birmingham. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for carrying out structural analysis and design of building structures and foundations in diverse sectors and scale.

You will have the opportunity to work on a wide range of projects, from concept to completion, and collaborate with colleagues in environmental and health and infrastructure to deliver a one-stop engineering design service to our clients.

We are looking for someone with a strong background in structural engineering, excellent communication skills, and the ability to explain complex engineering principles in plain language. You will also have experience with digital and parametric design, structural analysis tools, and technical report writing.

Key Responsibilities
  • Carry out structural analysis and design of building structures and foundations in diverse sectors and scale.
  • Practice innovative design, always striving to find the best outcomes for our clients.
  • Keep up to date with your technical skills through training provided by Ramboll and through self-learning.
  • Delight our existing clients and collaborators through an enthusiastic 'can do' attitude in all our engagements at all project stages.
  • Communicate designs to team members & construction sites.
About You

We are looking for someone with a degree in structural/civil engineering and relevant experience in a variety of sectors such as schools, higher education, residential, commercial, or industrial development. You will have experience of delivering accurate and innovative structural designs using a host of analysis, design, and modelling tools.

You will be a good team player, able to work collaboratively within large teams on large projects, and comfortable to work independently on smaller projects, under supervision, but with wide-ranging responsibilities for all aspects of design.

You will have an ability to design conceptually, with an appreciation of multi-discipline coordination and known for delighting architects through capture and development of their ideas.
