We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Children and Young People's Mentor to join our team at Rising Sun Domestic Violence and Abuse Service. As a key member of our CYP team, you will play a vital role in delivering services to children and young people affected by domestic violence and abuse.
Key Responsibilities:- Work one-to-one with young people aged 11-15, providing emotional support and guidance to help them cope with the impact of domestic abuse.
- Develop and deliver group programs in schools to promote healthy relationships and prevent domestic abuse.
- Build positive relationships with local schools and community organizations to ensure effective service delivery.
- Conduct thorough assessments to identify the needs of young people and develop personalized support plans.
- Collaborate with partner agencies to ensure a coordinated approach to supporting survivors of domestic abuse.
- Relevant qualifications in working with children and young people (desirable).
- Excellent understanding of the impact of domestic violence on children and young people, families, and communities.
- Thorough knowledge of safeguarding practice, procedures, and legislation.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with young people, families, and partner agencies.
- Ability to work flexibly, including evenings and weekends, as required.
