Join Our Team as a Senior Team Leader - Financial Support Hub

We're BDO UK, an accountancy and business advisory firm that helps entrepreneurial businesses succeed. Our Shared Service Centre (SSC) team provides essential support to various teams across our firm, and we're looking for a skilled Senior Team Leader to join our Financial Support Hub.

About the Role

As a Senior Team Leader, you'll be responsible for supporting the wider business with billing, credit control, private equity, and other financial areas of support. You'll work closely with the SSC Finance Hub Lead to ensure work is allocated and controlled effectively, and quality control is maintained.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the wider business with billing, credit control, private equity, and other financial areas of support.
  • Work with the SSC Finance Hub Lead to ensure work is allocated and controlled effectively.
  • Embed a continuous improvement culture through effective monitoring and root cause analysis of errors and omissions.
  • Uphold high ethical standards and ensure the team adheres to policies and regulations.
  • Handle internal queries and build relationships with colleagues and teams across BDO UK.
  • Lead training and development of the team to ensure we're 'Helping all succeed.'
  • Demonstrate strong leadership skills to guide and motivate the team towards achieving their objectives.
  • Ensure clear, concise, and effective communication within the team and with other stakeholders.
  • Make informed and timely decisions that benefit the team and align with organisational goals.
  • Identify issues promptly and implement effective solutions to overcome challenges.
  • Set clear performance expectations, provide regular feedback, and conduct performance reviews.
  • Foster a culture of continuous learning and development, offering training and growth opportunities.
  • Be flexible and responsive to changing circumstances and priorities.

Requirements and Skills

  • Strong people and team management experience.
  • Experience of managing multiple teams.
  • Strong IT skills, particularly in MS Excel and other MS Office products.
  • Knowledge of billing and credit control/cash flow/purchase to pay beneficial.
  • Professional communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise and complete tasks with limited supervision.
  • Willingness to get involved in ad hoc activities with a 'can do' attitude.
  • Strong understanding and dedication to client centricity.
  • Viewed by others as a trusted advisor and advocate.
  • Energetic, enthusiastic, and results-oriented.
  • Ability to work well in a team environment.
  • Ability to use your initiative and take a flexible approach.
