Ruby Software Engineer - Environmental Impact and Spatial Data

Oho Group Ltd, a prominent organization dedicated to nature conservation, is seeking multiple Ruby Engineers to enhance their team focused on their key product. The position primarily involves working with spatial data and web-based mapping solutions, contributing to global platforms and services utilizing Ruby.

Position Overview – Ruby Engineer

As a Ruby Engineer, you will engage in a diverse range of responsibilities, encompassing both systems architecture and software development. Your contributions will be essential in advancing the organization's services aimed at benefiting the environment. You will take charge of setting the technical direction, providing technical leadership, and influencing architectural decisions to support the organization's growth and enhance outcomes for wildlife. This role presents complex and stimulating challenges, playing a crucial part in driving innovation within the sector.

Requirements for Ruby Engineer:

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in Ruby Development

• Proficient in Geographic Information Systems (GIS), including ArcGIS and QGIS

• Familiarity with Web Mapping technologies (PostGIS, CartoDB)

• Experience with GIT/Version Control systems

• Knowledge of JavaScript and Front-End Development

• Experience in updating software and database versions on Unix-based systems

• Undergraduate degree in computer science is desirable
