Job Overview

Montu, a leading cannabis company, is seeking a highly skilled Clinical Pharmacist to join their team. As a key member of the clinical team, you will play a pivotal role in providing expertise in clinical medicines management, structured remote consultations, and medication reviews.

Key Responsibilities
  • Initial consultations with patients to validate medical history and eligibility for CBPM treatment
  • Remote consultations with patients who have already been prescribed CBPM and need regular monitoring and follow-up
  • Collaboration with consultants and other clinicians as part of a multidisciplinary team to manage and monitor safe prescribing in line with guidelines
  • Close working with partner pharmacies to ensure smooth dispensing and delivery of medication to patients
  • Management of the repeat prescribing reauthorization process by reviewing patient requests for repeat prescriptions and reviewing medicines reaching review dates and flagging up those needing a review within SLAs
  • Clinical audits of prescribing to ensure safety and compliance to policies and procedures
  • Maintenance of accurate patients' electronic health records as a result of a consultation or prescription
  • Implementation of changes to medicines that result from MHRA alerts, product withdrawal, and other local and national guidance
  • Collaboration with the governance and operational teams to ensure practices are compliant with CQC standards where medicines are involved
  • Contribution to the efficient running and profitability of the service by monitoring and auditing of medicines
  • Attendance at work-related meetings as required
  • Maintenance of all mandatory training and familiarity with company policies and SOPs
  • Shift-based and flexible working may be required from time to time
  • Attendance at clinical supervision to aid reflection of practice
  • Close working with the operations team to ensure care is provided in a timely manner
  • Collaboration with the Clinical Pharmacist lead to ensure the team meets any KPIs set by the organization
Requirements
  • A UK-qualified, registered Pharmacist with a valid GPhC Number
  • Ideal completion of a CPD-accredited medical cannabis educational program (provided for the successful candidate)
  • Independent prescriber qualification
  • Minimum of 4 years post-qualifying experience
  • In-depth therapeutic and clinical knowledge and understanding of the principles of CBPM
  • Self-motivated individual with high levels of attention to detail
  • Professional, ethical, and committed to providing excellent customer care
  • Excellent computer literacy with good working knowledge of office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Excellent communication skills and confidence at interacting with patients remotely
  • Independent Prescribing Qualification
