Mott MacDonald is seeking a highly skilled Senior Climate Risk Consultant to join our technical team across the UK. As a key figure in the UK Asset Management and Infrastructure Planning team, you will play a crucial role in supporting climate resilience activities in the water and other infrastructure sectors.
Key Responsibilities- Climate Data Analysis: Obtain, analyze, and interpret climate data in support of climate change risk assessments, impact modeling, and adaptation planning.
- Quantitative Risk Assessment: Devise quantitative approaches to assessing physical risks and failure mechanisms as a result of climate change.
- Climate Data Provision: Lead on the provision of climate data and analysis to engineering projects.
- Project Management: Manage climate resilience advisory projects, delivering to budget, program, and quality standards.
- Reporting and Documentation: Produce and review climate data sets, risk assessments, and adaptation plans – including written reports.
- Business Development: Assist with winning work, including managing climate resilience proposals, and development of new business within the asset management and investment planning team and across the wider practice.
- Technical Guidance: Provide technical guidance, support, and training to junior colleagues and assist, where practicable, in the mentoring and development of others.
- Experience in Climate Data Analysis: Experience in analyzing and interpreting UKCP18 and CMIP5/6 projection data.
- Quantitative Risk Assessment: Proven track record in delivering quantitative climate change risk assessment and impact modeling in the water and infrastructure sectors.
- Coding Skills: Experience in coding.
- Asset Management or Engineering Background: Asset management or engineering background with understanding of failure mechanisms.
- Engineering Requirements: Understanding of engineering requirements on infrastructure projects.
- Project Management Experience: Project management experience.
