Electrical Design Engineer Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled Electrical Design Engineer to join our team at RED Engineering Design. As a Senior Electrical Design Engineer, you will play a key role in the development and design of engineering projects for electrical installations, systems, and equipment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and specify applications of controls, instruments, and operating systems for building engineering services purposes
  • Survey, test, and report on existing electrical installations
  • Specify activities to ensure manufacturing, construction, installation, and operational testing conform to functional specifications and customer requirements
  • Provide day-to-day decision making on project progress and direct liaison with clients
  • Represent the company at technical meetings with customers, professional teams, and contractors
  • Carry out engineering calculations to ensure drawings meet required industry and legal standards
  • Validate and check designs and specifications
Requirements:
  • BEng, MSc, or equivalent with sufficient experience
  • MCIBSE/MIEE or HNC/HND + appropriate experience or equivalent
  • Working towards Chartered Engineer status
  • Competent in specification design/drawing for several building types
  • Sound knowledge of key Health and Safety issues and legislation
  • Knowledge of MS Office applications and IT-based calculation and spreadsheet software
  • Good understanding of BS standards
  • Ability to prioritize own workload and work to deadlines
  • Managerial skills and background in consulting or construction preferred
