Job Title: Graduate Learning Support Assistant

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Graduate Learning Support Assistant to join our team at a reputable SEN school in Darlington.

About the Role:

The successful candidate will work closely with teachers and other professionals to provide support to students with a range of needs, including ASD, SEMD, and SpLD. The role will involve organizing learning activities, working one-on-one with students, and using technology to enhance learning.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Establish a learning environment that recognizes the difficulties faced by SEN students
  • Work with fellow learning support assistants to identify specific needs of each child
  • Use technology to engage students in learning
  • Collaborate with teachers to ensure activities align with the national curriculum
  • Communicate with students to determine their needs and ensure they are met
  • Observe students to identify changes in behavior or other areas and report to the classroom teacher
