The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the development and implementation of UKRI's organisational strategy in relation to integrative investment planning. This will involve working closely with the CEO and wider Executive Committee to ensure that our strategy is aligned with our vision and goals.
Provide Inspirational and Visible LeadershipThe Chief of Investment Planning and Strategy will provide inspirational and visible leadership throughout the strategy cycle, ensuring that appropriate capacity and capability are in place to support effective delivery.
Convene the Organisation in Developing UKRI's Overall Investment StrategyThe successful candidate will convene the organisation in developing UKRI's overall investment strategy, ensuring that the money invested through UKRI delivers on our vision for a sustainable research and innovation system.
Harness the Depth of Expertise from Across UKRIThe Chief of Investment Planning and Strategy will harness the depth of expertise from across UKRI by fostering proactive, open, and collaborative engagement with the councils, including leading UKRI's Strategy Committee and engaging with our Analytical Leadership forum.
Work Closely with Senior StakeholdersThe successful candidate will work closely with senior stakeholders, including the Chief Finance Officer, Chief Information Officer, and Chief of External Affairs and Communication, to ensure that integrative programmes are developed, owned, and implemented.
Lead on the Newly Developed Integrative SecretariatThe Chief of Investment Planning and Strategy will lead on the newly developed Integrative Secretariat, managing an effective change management process and ensuring structure and capability are defined and implemented.
Develop the Evidence and Evaluation BaseThe successful candidate will develop the evidence and evaluation base, including metrics for our new performance framework, to ensure that UKRI sets the bar as an evidence-based organisation.
Work Across External StakeholdersThe Chief of Investment Planning and Strategy will work across external stakeholders, including Whitehall, to engage the community with UKRI's organisational strategy and ensure that our research and innovation agenda is aligned with government priorities.
