Powys County Council is seeking a highly skilled Strategic Planning and Policy Lead to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will play a crucial role in leading the Council's approach to strategic planning, policy, and performance.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in policy development, strategic planning, and governance. You will be responsible for leading the Council's implementation of statutory legislation, such as the Local Government and Election (Wales) Act 2021 and the Well-being of Future Generations (Wales) Act 2015.

You will also be responsible for collaborating with external stakeholders, supporting the Corporate and Strategic Equality Plan, and leading the Council's approach to assurance to its wider governance functions.

We are looking for a candidate who is passionate about improvement within the Welsh legislative context and has a strong ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders across the organization.

What You Will Do
  1. Supporting the Corporate and Strategic Equality Plan
  2. Collaborating with external stakeholders
  3. Supporting the Council's approach to assurance to its wider governance functions
  4. Leading the Council's approach to strategic planning, policy, and performance
  5. Lead the Council's policy approach to Equalities
  6. Champion the implementation of the Sustainable Development Principle (Five Ways of Working)

This position does not have a requirement for a DBS Check.
