Science Academic Mentor Role in Barnet

Ribbons & Reeves, a leading education recruiter, is seeking a highly motivated and qualified Science Academic Mentor to join our team in Barnet. As a Science Academic Mentor, you will play a vital role in supporting the academic development of students in a secondary school setting.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Mentor and tutor students aged 11-18 in small groups and one-to-one sessions.
  • Maximize student learning potential by increasing attainment, motivation, and self-esteem.
  • Implement strategies to address knowledge gaps that have emerged during the pandemic.
Requirements:
  • First-Class or 2:1 degree in a STEM-related subject (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Maths).
  • Excellent A-Levels in related subjects.
  • Ambition to qualify as a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Maths Teacher in the future.
  • Energy and enthusiasm to engage and motivate students.
  • Patient and supportive approach to help students understand complex concepts.
  • Dedication to immersing yourself in school life, including lunchtime clubs, enrichment activities, and after-school clubs.
