Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and safety-conscious Loader Operative to join our team at Biffa Waste Services. As a key member of our waste collection team, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient and safe removal of waste and recyclables from designated collection points.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collect and remove waste and recyclables from designated collection points, adhering to health and safety protocols and company procedures.
  • Operate machinery and equipment safely and efficiently, with minimal supervision.
  • Work collaboratively with the driver and other team members to achieve collection targets and ensure a smooth operation.
  • Record and report any issues or concerns related to waste collection, including missed bins and additional work requests.
  • Ensure all waste is loaded correctly and safely, and that spillages are cleared up immediately.
  • Assist the driver in reversing the vehicle and ensure safe maneuvering.
  • Adhere to and promote company health and safety rules, procedures, and legislation.
  • Provide excellent customer service and maintain a positive relationship with residents and clients.

Requirements:

  • Class 2 training and ability to operate machinery safely and efficiently.
  • Basic knowledge of health and safety procedures and protocols.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and as part of a team.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Basic computer skills and ability to use company systems.
