About the Role

The primary function of a Commercial Gas Engineer at Mears involves conducting thorough inspections of all equipment and appliances within our council properties to ensure they operate safely and meet regulatory standards. This includes identifying and assessing potential risks. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing and commissioning pipework systems and gas appliances, as well as repairing or replacing other plant equipment, such as pumps, pipe work, tanks, and motorized valves. Direct interaction with customers is a key aspect of this role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure compliance with COCN 1 - Commercial core safety
  • Install and commission indirect fired appliances in accordance with CIGA 1
  • Conduct assessments of radiant tubes in line with CORT 1
  • Implement commercial pipework installations in accordance with ICPN 1
  • Perform testing and purging of pipework under 1m in accordance with TPCP 1
  • Conduct testing and purging of pipework over 1m in accordance with TPCP 1A
