As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in delivering a professional, customer-focused service for the procurement of goods, services, and works for the Council's Transport Services and the Yorkshire Purchasing Organisation (YPO).

About the Role

You will work closely with category managers in the Corporate Procurement team to gain a full understanding and control of all third-party spend associated with their categories, ensuring a planned, proactive approach is maintained to improve procurement activity within these categories of spend across the Council.

Key responsibilities will include assisting in the contract management and procurement of goods and services supply contracts to the Council in respect of the provision and operation of the Vehicle, Plant, and Equipment Fleet and its Passenger Services, including home-to-school transport.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess level 4 qualifications (HNC, Higher Apprenticeship or equivalent) and be currently working or willing to train to meet the requirements of CIPS level 2 & 3. You will also need to hold a Category B Driver's Licence and have highly developed IT skills with experience of using Microsoft Office packages, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, and SharePoint.

Demonstrable knowledge of automotive engineering and involvement in projects, as well as experience of project management and delivering to set deadlines, are also essential requirements for this role.
