As an EAP Counsellor, you'll be part of a caring and supportive team dedicated to improving the emotional wellbeing of our members. You'll provide brief solution-focused counselling, working with a model that delivers Emotional Wellbeing Support with a realistic approach. Your goal will be to coach our members to their desired outcome, working alongside the EAP Ireland team to provide in-the-moment support to a diverse range of clients.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide virtual assessments and in-the-moment support to clients using a brief solution-focused model.
  • Offer one-off emotional wellbeing calls, referring to internal and external resources as needed.
  • Carry out risk assessments and triage to ensure the best possible outcomes for our members.
  • Complete case notes for all clients in line with clinical policy.
  • Stay up-to-date on relevant regulatory and legislative developments to ensure compliance.
  • Participate actively in weekly and monthly team meetings to share knowledge and best practices.
  • Demonstrate a keen awareness of meeting customer expectations within the boundaries of emotional wellbeing.
  • Problem-solve and create an internal network to support the team's efforts.
  • Undertake all other tasks and responsibilities as required.
Requirements:
  • Accreditation to a recognized counselling and/or psychotherapy governing body.
  • Bachelor's degree/Level 8 in Counselling or Psychotherapy.
  • Experience working in a brief solution-focused counselling model.
  • Previous telephone/video counselling experience.
  • I.T/Computer literate (MS Word, Excel, Outlook, MS Teams etc.).
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in counselling and/or psychotherapy.
  • Good clinical judgement and understanding of responsibilities regarding confidentiality; strong work ethic and professionalism.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, collaboration, cultural competency, interpersonal, self-care, time management, and organizational skills.
