About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled SHE and Regulatory Manager to join our team at Koura. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing the Safety, Health, Environmental, Industrial Quality, Security, and Regulatory requirements for our operations.

Main Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage the SHE and Industrial Quality system across all company locations
  • Provide leadership and professional/specialist technical advice to plants, projects, and corporate offices
  • Develop and maintain technical knowledge and understanding of the SHEQ&S operational activities of the various sites
  • Manage external interactions with regulatory bodies such as the HSE, EA, BSI, and Koura corporate HSE functions
  • Manage all regulatory licenses and permits to ensure compliance and continued operation
  • Maintain oversight and provide necessary direction for process safety management and behavioural safety improvement processes
  • Manage the deliverance of a technical training and competence management system
Qualifications
  • Graduate in chemical/scientific discipline
  • Professional safety and health qualification (e.g. NEBOSH diploma)
  • Further education/qualifications in safety or environmental areas desirable
  • Formal leadership/management qualification or courses desirable
Knowledge/Experience Required
  • 10 years' experience in a production or operations environment
  • 3 years' experience in a regulatory position for an upper tier COMAH site (or equivalent)
  • Direct management experience of SHEQ&S professionals
  • Proven experience with management systems (ISO 9001/14001/18001)
  • Technical competence in process safety, environmental regulation, and occupational safety
  • Influencing and rational persuasion skills
  • High safety standards result-orientated concern for impact and analytical skills
