EHS Manager - Upstream Chemicals

About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced EHS Manager to join our team in Runcorn. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for managing the Safety, Health, Environmental, Industrial Quality, Security, and Regulatory requirements for our UK operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership and technical advice to plants, projects, and UK corporate offices on SHE and Industrial Quality matters.
  • Lead and manage the SHE and Industrial Quality system across all company UK locations.
  • Ensure legislative compliance within the business and lead the SHEQ&S teams to sustain and improve SHEQ&S standards.
  • Identify, define, and implement SHEQ&S policies, standards, processes, and procedures to achieve world-class performance.
  • Monitor and assess potential future Safety, Health, Security, Industrial Quality, and Environmental issues to determine their impact on business strategy.
  • Manage all regulatory licenses and permits, including COMAH, EPR, Speciality chemicals, Hazardous Substance Consent, climate change levy, ESOS/ISO50001, and ISO 9001/14001/45001.
  • Maintain oversight and provide necessary direction to support process safety management (PSM) and behavioral safety improvement processes.
  • Manage the deliverance of a technical training and competence management system to ensure technical and operational staff are trained and competent to carry out their roles.

Requirements:

  • Graduate in a chemical or scientific discipline.
  • Professional safety and health qualification, such as a NEBOSH diploma.
  • Established technical background with 10 years' experience in a production or operations environment and a minimum of 3 years in a regulatory position for an upper-tier COMAH site.
  • Proven experience with management systems, including design, implementation, and auditing.
  • Technical competence in process safety, environmental regulation, and occupational safety.
