Governance Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled Governance Manager to join our team at The Gambling Commission. As a key member of our Governance function, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that decision-making in the Commission is well managed, delivering support for the Commission Board, Committees, and Executive Team, and providing advice and guidance on key policies and processes.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and embed good governance policies and processes throughout the organisation.
- Act as a point of advice and guidance, supporting the training and development of colleagues to enhance good governance.
- Manage key policies and processes to drive accountability within the Commission, including managing complaints, conflicts of interest, and supporting internal audits.
- Work with the Senior Manager – Governance and Risk Assurance to manage regulatory panels, liaise with internal and external stakeholders, and provide procedural advice.
- Support decision-making, including drafting decision notices, and develop training and support materials for Commissioners and Commission staff.
- Expert leadership on governance processes and requirements.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to draft high-quality documents, including meeting minutes, decision notices, and complex correspondence.
- Ability to work at pace while maintaining attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and make sound judgments.
- Strong IT skills and experience with Microsoft Office software.

- 26 days' holiday, rising to 29 days after two years' service, with the option to buy up to five days extra annual leave.
