Role Summary for Commercial Gas Estimator:

We are in search of a proficient and knowledgeable Commercial Estimator with a robust background in commercial gas systems. The ideal candidate will possess practical experience in HVAC systems, particularly in commercial gas, and have the technical expertise necessary to accurately assess costs and timelines for various projects and maintenance tasks. This role requires an individual capable of delivering realistic and competitive estimates while effectively collaborating with clients and team members to provide customized solutions.

Key Responsibilities for Commercial Gas Estimator:

• Develop comprehensive and competitive estimates for the installation, maintenance, and repair of commercial gas systems.
• Engage with clients to comprehend their requirements and offer practical, tailored solutions.
• Conduct site evaluations as needed to assess project needs and gather pertinent information.
• Manage emergency calls for unforeseen equipment failures and coordinate subcontractor responses.
• Maintain current knowledge of HVAC systems, with a focus on commercial gas and air conditioning.
• Ensure all estimates adhere to industry standards and company protocols.
• Collaborate with the project team to guarantee successful project execution within budget and time constraints.

Qualifications and Skills for Commercial Gas Estimator:

• Preferred Experience: At least 5 years as a qualified gas technician, with a minimum of 3 years of independent field experience, OR at least 5 years as a commercial estimator specializing in M&E / commercial gas projects.
• Technical Knowledge: Strong foundation in commercial gas systems.
• Certifications: Current or previous Gas Safe certification (commercial/domestic). Recently expired certifications are acceptable if the candidate has relevant experience.
• Business Acumen: Ability to understand and apply pricing strategies, including markups and margins.
• Estimating Background: Previous experience in estimating roles is highly desirable.
• Project Management: Experience in project roles within an engineering context is advantageous.
• Communication Skills: Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities for effective client engagement and team collaboration.
