Assistant Littering Enforcement Officer

We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our Enforcement Team as an Assistant Littering Enforcement Officer. This is an exciting opportunity to make a positive impact on our community by driving down littering on public land and public highways.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct targeted patrols in open areas, including streets, parks, recreation areas, and cemeteries, to identify and address littering hotspots.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to develop and implement effective waste management strategies.
- Provide a visible and reassuring uniformed officer presence, engaging with the public and providing advice on environmental crime and antisocial behavior matters.
- Conduct enforcement activities, including issuing Fixed Penalty Notices (FPNs) and prosecuting offenders as necessary.
- Work closely with local businesses to ensure they are managing their waste lawfully and efficiently, and implement measures to seek litter clearance from private landowners.
- Contribute to ad-hoc Police and Community Safety events and initiatives as required.
- Knowledge of enforcement principles, legislation, and experience in collaborative working and problem-solving.
- Ability to write concise reports and have excellent verbal communication skills, including the preparation of statements and the completion of FPNs.
- Excellent planning and organizational skills, to manage a range of complex activities and achieve given targets and objectives.
- Self-motivated and enthusiastic individual with a 'can-do' attitude and a commitment to delivering excellent customer service.
