Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Phlebotomy Specialist to join our team at SYNLAB UK. As a Phlebotomy Specialist, you will be responsible for collecting blood and DNA samples from clients in a safe and professional manner.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collect blood and DNA samples from clients in a variety of settings, including solicitor's offices, local authority offices, and donor's homes.
  • Provide a professional and courteous service to clients, ensuring that all samples are collected in a safe and healthy environment.
  • Maintain and develop excellent relationships with clients and donors, representing SYNLAB UK in a positive and professional manner.
  • Implement the requirements of our Quality Management System and contribute to maintaining our ISO 17025 accreditation.
  • Ensure that all collections are undertaken in a safe, healthy, and low-risk environment and manner.
  • Provide statements of truth at the point of collection.

Requirements:

  • Excellent interpersonal and language skills.
  • Full UK driving license and own access to a vehicle with business insurance.
  • A minimum of 2 years' experience in Phlebotomy, post-qualification (proof of Phlebotomy competency may be required).

Desirable:

  • Experience in working within the NHS or Blood Service.
  • Experience in collecting hair and DNA samples (in-house training is provided for this aspect of the role).

Working Conditions:

  • Assignments will generally be within a 2-hour radius of a collector's home address by car.
  • Successful applicants will be paid on a per-collection basis only, plus appropriate travel expenses will be paid, including fuel, parking fees, and sample postage.

Essential Requirements:

  • Hepatitis B immunity is required for this role.
  • An enhanced DBS check will be an essential requirement for this role.

Job Type: Zero hours contract

Pay: From £12.00 per hour

Schedule:

  • Day shift
  • Monday to Friday
  • No weekends

Experience:

  • Phlebotomy: 2 years (preferred)
