As we advance in our mission of development and innovation to meet the demands of the new era of nuclear energy, Boccard UK Limited, a prominent authority in engineering, manufacturing, construction, and maintenance within the nuclear energy sector, is in search of a skilled and knowledgeable QC Inspector (Coatings, Welding Inspection & NDT) to become a vital part of our Quality Team.
Positioned in Welshpool, the QC Inspector will report directly to the Senior Project Quality Manager, ensuring the provision of compliant products through proactive monitoring, evaluation, and enhancement initiatives with suppliers.
We are looking for a seasoned, certified QC Inspector who can uphold the highest standards in our coating, NDT, and welding operations, leveraging your expertise to refine and elevate our quality assurance processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as the subject matter expert for contract coating and painting methodologies.
- Offer specialized knowledge in diverse coating inspection technologies.
- Incorporate the latest advancements in coating inspection into our operational framework.
- Assess and enhance coating inspection procedures.
- Develop Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for coating inspections.
- Review and improve quality control protocols for coated products.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Recent experience in the Nuclear Sector or similarly regulated industries.
- Expertise in coating inspection techniques, tools, and materials.
- CSWIP 3.1, PCN level 2 PT and MT certifications.
- Painting and coating qualifications such as BGAS-CSWIP or equivalent.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities.
- Capability to evaluate certification against specification requirements.
- Proficient in reviewing technical documentation such as Lifetime Quality Records, with the ability to accept or provide feedback based on contract specifications.
- Competent in visiting suppliers to assess materials and manufactured items for compliance.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Conduct inspections of raw materials at supplier locations.
- Review documentation such as 3.1/3.2 certificates for materials and consumables, completing inspection and release documentation.
- Perform inspections related to welding, NDT, and painting as necessary.
- Conduct independent inspections of Boccard and its suppliers' work.
- Generate and review documentation, procedures, Inspection Test Plans (ITPs), and release certificates.
- Ensure compliance with controlling documents throughout the manufacturing process.
- Utilize SharePoint and Windows software competently.
- Execute product and process inspections in accordance with applicable standards.
- Participate in technical product qualifications and review supplier technical documents for material release.
- Foster strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Engage in continuous improvement initiatives.
- Prioritize safety in all activities.
It is essential to ensure that the Inspection and Test Plan (ITP) is adhered to at every stage of manufacturing and installation, aligning with client quality requirements.
