Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Theatre Coordinator to join our dynamic team at King Edward VII's Hospital. As a Theatre Coordinator, you will play a critical role in overseeing the efficient and effective operation of our main theatres department.

Main Responsibilities
  • Manage staffing levels and skills to meet patient needs, ensuring a high standard of care and communication with all relevant departments.
  • Act as Theatre Manager in their absence and support in achieving performance targets, including revenue capture and departmental improvements.
  • Ensure maximum efficiency in clinical activities, maintaining high standards of care and communication with all relevant departments.
  • Lead the theatre team, support staff development and performance management, and ensure clinical and professional competence requirements are met.
  • Coordinate theatre activities, maintain accurate documentation, oversee equipment maintenance, and ensure a clean and well-maintained theatre environment.
  • Uphold patient privacy and dignity, ensure compliance with safety checklists, and contribute to improving clinical standards through audits and best practices.
  • Manage theatre resources effectively, participate in cost improvement initiatives, and assist in the planning and implementation of departmental improvements.

Key Requirements
  • Relevant clinical qualification and professional registration (NMC or HCPC).
  • Proven experience in a theatre coordination or similar role, with a strong understanding of clinical and operational management in a perioperative environment.
  • Completion of a leadership course and Surgical First Assistant certification is desirable.
