About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Principal Environmental Health Officer to join our Property Licensing team at Coventry City Council. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of Environmental Health Officers, delivering key services and ensuring the highest standards of environmental health in our city.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead a diverse team of Environmental Health Officers, providing guidance and support to ensure the delivery of high-quality services.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve environmental health outcomes, working closely with stakeholders and partners.
  • Manage and maintain accurate records, reports, and data to inform decision-making and service improvement.
  • Collaborate with other teams and departments to ensure a cohesive and integrated approach to environmental health services.
  • Stay up-to-date with relevant legislation, policies, and best practices, applying this knowledge to inform decision-making and service delivery.
Requirements
  • Proven experience in a leadership or management role, with a strong track record of delivering high-quality services.
  • Substantial knowledge and understanding of environmental health legislation, particularly around private sector housing.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with colleagues, stakeholders, and customers.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks and managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions.
