Role OverviewWe are seeking a Senior Business Analyst with a keen interest in data governance and workflow management. This position is crucial for leading the business analysis segment of one of our dedicated teams.
The primary objective of this team is to enhance data management capabilities, and the Senior Business Analyst will oversee product specifications, gather requirements, engage with stakeholders, and collaborate closely with product development teams to ensure successful project execution.
Your Contributions to Janes- Collaborate with the product development team and engage with project stakeholders, subject matter experts, and product owners to comprehend business and functional requirements.
- Deliver high-quality product specifications for new applications and enhancements to existing systems by working in tandem with product owners, technical leads, architects, and quality assurance team members.
- Understand customer needs through discussions with Product Managers/Owners and conduct preliminary research on new initiatives or product features to identify requirements before development begins.
- Work alongside product managers and owners to define and decompose EPICs, features, and user stories for the development team, establishing acceptance criteria and the definition of completion.
- Serve as a subject matter expert on the technical landscape, including systems, user workflows, data flows, and implementation details of product requirements.
- Document both technical and non-functional requirements as features and user stories, developing specifications for the development teams.
- Collaborate with the QA team to establish a testing strategy for releases and assist in defining detailed test cases for user stories.
- Review development progress and provide ongoing feedback to the development team and product owners to ensure alignment with product specifications.
- Conduct functional and technical analysis of high-level product designs, refining requirements to a feature level.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in a Business Analyst role within Agile software development environments.
- Confidence to challenge business requirements and distinguish them from implementation needs to grasp the actual current issues.
- Ability to lead and participate in various Agile ceremonies, including Stand-ups, Retrospectives, Showcases, Planning Sessions, and Backlog Refinement Sessions.
- Strong understanding of web application frameworks and software architecture, both client-side and server-side.
- Familiarity with APIs and proficiency in using tools like Postman for payload and input analysis.
- Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and experience with Azure DevOps.
- Desirable experience with relational databases, NoSQL databases, or GraphDB.
- Familiarity with search technologies, such as OpenSearch, is a plus.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities, with the flexibility to prioritize projects based on business needs.

- Methodical, organized, and action-oriented approach.
- Good listening skills, with sensitivity and empathy towards team needs.
- Ability to manage interdependencies with other teams.
