Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Optical Assistant to join our team in Ilford. As an Optical Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality, easily accessible ophthalmology care to patients in the area. You will be responsible for independently running pre- and post-operative diagnostic clinics, supporting patients throughout their journey with CHEC, and reporting any concerns.

Key Responsibilities

  • Pre-examination diagnostics, such as Intraocular pressures, OCT scans, and visual acuities
  • Instilling Eyedrops
  • Blood Pressure monitoring
  • Temperature testing
  • Blood glucose Monitoring
  • Supporting hospital diagnostic clinics as and when required

Person Specification

We are looking for an individual with a natural ability to empathize with patients and demonstrate a genuine care. You should have a desire to provide the very best quality and safe patient care, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills. You should also be highly proficient in Microsoft Office and other systems, with the ability to learn and adapt to new internal systems.
