Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Cloud Data Engineer to join our team at Wave Talent. As a key member of our Data Engineering team, you will lead a high-priority migration project to move our legacy data systems to Google Cloud Platform (GCP), enabling a scalable, efficient, and modern data solution.

About the Role:

As a Senior Cloud Data Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and implementing data pipelines using GCP services such as BigQuery, DataFlow, and DataProc. You will collaborate with global teams to ensure seamless integration and robust migration strategies. Additionally, you will implement data lineage automation and reusable engineering patterns, ensuring compliance and data security within a regulated financial environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the migration and transformation of data platforms from legacy systems to GCP.
  • Design and build data pipelines using GCP services such as BigQuery, DataFlow, and DataProc.
  • Collaborate with global teams to ensure seamless integration and robust migration strategies.
  • Implement data lineage automation and reusable engineering patterns.
  • Ensure compliance and data security within a regulated financial environment.
  • Mentor and support the data engineering team, driving best practices.

What We're Looking For:

  • Experience in data engineering, with a strong focus on data warehousing and ETL.
  • 3+ years of hands-on GCP experience, specifically with data-related services.
  • Proficiency in SQL, and experience with Python or Java is a plus.
  • Experience with large-scale cloud migrations, ideally from legacy systems to GCP.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively in a global team.
