Renewable Energy Development Lead

Octopus Energy Generation (OEGEN) is a leading force in sourcing, investing in, and managing utility-scale renewable energy assets.

They have achieved remarkable success in onshore wind and solar power investments across Europe and are now expanding into offshore wind projects. Currently overseeing a global portfolio of over £6 billion in renewable energy assets, OEGEN is seeking to strengthen its Development Portfolio Team to support their ambitious growth plans.

Last Mile Development Manager

In this role, you will play a pivotal part in driving the development of renewable energy projects through the final stages.

  • Development Management:
    • Oversee individual projects from initiation to completion.
    • Implement robust risk management strategies and ensure on-time program delivery.
  • Procurement:
    • Develop and execute contracting strategies for projects.
    • Manage the tendering and negotiation processes for supply, engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC), and operations and maintenance (O&M) contracts.
  • Pipeline Quality Oversight:
    • Maintain a high standard of quality across all projects within the development pipeline.
    • Evaluate the capabilities and risk profiles of potential development partners.
  • Relationship Management:
    • Build and nurture strong relationships with developers, investors, and key stakeholders.

Your Qualifications:

  • Extensive experience in developing renewable energy projects, particularly in later stages of development.
  • A solid understanding of project management principles and technical aspects of renewable energy.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with diverse teams.
  • A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering or a related field.
  • Proven senior management experience within the renewable energy sector or a closely related industry.
  • Proficiency in project management software, data analysis tools, and reporting platforms.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
