MacGregor Black is collaborating with a privately owned SME in the Health & Beauty industry to find a Chief Financial Officer. This is a permanent opportunity.

As the Chief Financial Officer, you will be responsible for overseeing all financial activities, including cash flow management, budgeting, forecasting, and strategic financial planning. You will play a vital role in the senior leadership team, working closely with the CEO, Operations Director, and Marketing Director to drive the growth of this esteemed brand.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assume full accountability for the finance department
  • Formulate and execute long-term financial strategies that align with the company's growth ambitions
  • Evaluate financial performance and provide insights to inform business decisions
  • Supervise the preparation of monthly management accounts and present findings to the Board
  • Lead the implementation of financial systems and process enhancements to improve accuracy, efficiency, and reporting
  • Oversee the development and monitoring of budgets, ensuring they align with corporate objectives
  • Manage daily cash flow to ensure the organization meets its financial commitments and optimizes liquidity
  • Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, ensuring timely delivery to stakeholders
  • Supervise the finance team's work on invoicing, payments, and collections to maintain robust cash flow
  • Ensure timely and accurate payroll processing, adhering to relevant tax and employment regulations
  • Guarantee the timely submission of VAT returns, corporation tax, and other statutory obligations

Qualifications

  • Fully qualified in ACA, ACCA, or CIMA
  • Experience in a senior finance role within an early-stage or SME environment
  • Proven ability to independently manage all facets of transactional finance
  • Possess a strong commercial acumen
  • Willingness to engage actively in all business areas
  • Experience in a retail or consumer-focused environment is essential
  • Background in the health, beauty, or cosmetics sector is a plus
