Job Summary

Dorset Clinical Commissioning Group is seeking a skilled and experienced Operating Departmental Practitioner to join our team. As an Operating Departmental Practitioner, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care in the theatre environment.

Main Responsibilities

Key responsibilities of the role include:

  • Providing clinical care to patients undergoing surgical procedures
  • Working collaboratively with the theatre team to ensure smooth and efficient operations
  • Contributing to the development and implementation of theatre policies and procedures
  • Participating in ongoing education and training to maintain and enhance clinical skills

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Current HCPC or NMC Registration as an Operating Departmental Practitioner or Registered Nurse (Adult)
  • Specialist knowledge of medical and surgical conditions in relevant clinical areas underpinned by theory
  • Understanding of the theatre philosophy
  • Ability to work as part of a team and project a positive image
  • Ability to work in a demanding environment
  • Evidence of clinical team working and ability to work under own initiative
  • Experience of working in the theatre environment

Desirable Criteria

It is desirable that you have:

  • Recognised Mentor Qualification
  • Comprehensive applied Anatomy and Physiology for relevant clinical area
